Beginner’s Yoga Series

✔️ Have you been interested in trying yoga but don’t know if you can do it? ✔️ Do you have injuries or other physical issues that limit your mobility, or cause you ongoing pain?
✔️ Want to learn the basics so you feel more comfortable joining a class?

If so, I have important news for you:
– You absolutely can do yoga.

– Even if you can’t sit cross-legged, be on your knees, or touch your toes, it’s no problem. You can still experience the physical (& mental!) benefits of yoga.

– You will feel more confident in your knowledge & abilities after attending this series.

Series Details

After a 2 year hiatus due to Covid, I’m super excited to bring this back to the Watertown Center for Healing Arts! Here are the details:

WHEN: 6 Tuesdays from 7:30-8:30 pm ET from Sept 20 – Oct 25, 2022

WHERE: Watertown Center for Healing Arts, Charles River Studio; 17 Spring St. Watertown MA 02472. Please note this facility is on the 2nd floor & there is no elevator.

COST: $97

COVID info: I am vaccinated, boosted, & will remain masked and socially distant. The studio is also large enough for you to provide ample distance between people. This series is limited to 10 students.



Hi, I’m Kali & I’ll be your teacher.

Here’s the short version of my story:

I first learned yoga trying to follow a DVD in the early 90s! I dabbled with it until I experienced burnout in my professional career around 2010. To escape, I got my first teaching certification.

Since then, I’ve studied Yoga Therapy–which is more in tune with what I (& most people) need to reduce stress, improve sleep, & change your perspective on life!

Seeing beginners–especially people who don’t think they can do yoga or would enjoy it–is one of the most rewarding things I do.

What You’ll Learn & What You’ll Get

Over the course of the 6 weeks, you’ll learn:

✔️ Basic standing, seated, kneeling, prone, and reclined* postures.

✔️ How & when to breathe when practicing yoga (which makes it so much more powerful than “stretching”)!

✔️ The 6 ways you should move your spine every day to remain healthy.

You’ll also:

✔️ Hear instructions (that you most likely won’t hear from instructors) to help you understand why & how to keep yourself safe & relaxed.

✔️ Receive a handout with illustrations & reminder instructions for all of the postures we cover so you can practice at home if desired.

✔️ Be able to ask questions throughout each class–these are “workshoppy” on purpose. There are no “bad” or “stupid” questions!

✔️ Experience a full “class” that integrates all that you’ve workshopped into a more realistic experience of what you might find out in the world.

*If there is a position you can’t or would prefer not to do (e.g. kneeling), I will include variations that show you how to still get the same advantages!
