What is Eating Psychology Coaching?
Eating Psychology Coaching is a unique combination of nutrition and psychology designed to address your health concerns, including:

Eating Psychology Coaching provides a way for you to explore the fascinating connections between your brain, your body, and your behavior, all of which impact your health. Simply put, what you eat is only half of the story. The other half is who you are as an eater. This is why approximately 95% of people who diet gain the weight back–we’re not getting at the root cause of the issues, not to mention that constant vigilance and “willpower” is exhausting.
Eating Psychology reveals how stress physiology, the relaxation response, breathing, awareness, pleasure, and meal timing profoundly influence your digestion and calorie burning potential. You have a unique, fascinating, and ever-changing relationship with food that presents you with countless opportunities to grow and evolve as a human being. It can teach you important lessons if you choose to listen.
You’ve likely been been inundated with negative images about food, weight, and diet. You may be sick of strategies for “controlling” yourself, and tired of trying to process conflicting advice from numerous experts. (I sure was!) It’s your choice: stay wrapped up and distracted by all the “should’s and shouldn’ts”, or learn to get where you want to go while enjoying your life and your food.
What can you expect?
Rather than seeing your challenges as a terrible condition that must be fixed, I will help you:
- Explore the personal dimensions of life (family, work, relationships, stress, purpose/fulfillment, etc.) that impact your food choices, weight, and health
- Examine the deeper reasons behind your unwanted behaviors—including their benefits–-so you can stop beating yourself up and start making real changes
- Understand the most important yet simple scientific principles around metabolism that existed before—and will exist beyond—the latest fads
- Co-discover realistic modifications to your life that will dissolve ingrained habits in a way that’s nourishing, motivating, energizing, and empowering
- Manifest long-lasting, life-changing results to move you through your life with more ease
During the intake session, you can expect me to learn as much as I can about you. Because my approach is holistic, our discussion will include topics not just about food and your health, but also about your lifestyle (work, home, play), your relationships (family, friends), and your beliefs around food and weight. I want to know your story so that I can help you.
We’ll discuss strategies that will be useful to you. For example, if you overeat or binge eat, we’ll talk about ways to help you release your unwanted habit gradually, addressing the root causes. If you have digestive issues or are tired of always being on a diet, you’ll discover ways to relax into your relationship with food so you can focus on living your life.
Subsequent sessions are an hour. In the first session we’ll talk about whether to work together weekly or bi-weekly and for how long. Between sessions we’ll negotiate ways for you to practice what we talked about in the context of your daily life. And each time we meet we’ll make any necessary adjustments to help you move as quickly as possible to where you want to go.
